Учасник АТО хмельничанин Міщенко Сергій Анатолійович був призваний на військову службу 19 березня 2014 року відповідно до Указу Президента України "Про мобілізацію" від 17 березня 2014 р.
Старший лейтенант Міщенко Сергій Анатолійович в/ч В3231 виконував бойові завдання безпосередньо в районі проведення АТО на території Донецької і Луганської областей у складі 26-ої Артилерійської бригади.
У жовтні 2014 р. під час мінометного обстрілу зазнав травми голови, що спровокував розрив аневризми судин головного мозку, після чого був направлений у на лікування до Обласної клінічної лікарні ім. Мечникова м. Дніпропетровська. На протязі 2014-2015 років успішно переніс три операції на головному мозку. Як наслідок має такі ускладнення після хвороби як епілептичні напади, анемія, втрата пам'яті.
26 жовтня 2015 року Сергій лікувався у нейрохірургічному відділені Хмельницької обласної лікарні, переніс операцію на головному мозку на ділянці трепанації черепа після падіння, що спричинили судоми.

Serhiy Mischenko, an ATO veteran originating from Khmelnytsk oblast, needs help. Serhiy was mobilized on the 19th of March, 2014 according to the Order of the President of Ukraine “On Mobilization” of the 17th of March, 2014.
Senior lieutenant of the military unit V3231 Serhiy Mischenko carried out operational missions in the ATO area in a territory of Donetsk oblast and Luhansk oblast as a soldier of the 26th Artillery Brigade.
In October, 2014 the Brigade was trench mortar shelled. Serhiy got a head injury which led to brain swelling and to aneurism rupture. He got memory loss and pelvic organs control loss. He underwent medical treatment in Illya Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Clinical Hospital, then in Khmelnytsk Military Hospital. He had survived three head surgeries in 8 months (craniotomy and frontal skull defect plasty by an autogenous bone transplant).
Since the 26th of October, 2015 Serhiy has been undergoing medical treatment in the neurosurgery department of Khmelnytsk Oblast Hospital. A frontal bone fracture has also occurred at the craniotomy site as a result of a traumatic fall. His condition is grave. He has high temperature and traumatic meningitis. He has an operation ahead. Serhiy needs constant care because the memory loss holds (he cannot dress himself correctly without assistance, he does not remember where he lives and where is his hospital room).
